Our week exploring Havana and Western Cuba by land was complete but Saturday marked the next leg of

Destination - the beautiful southern archipelago of Cuba.

Leaving a very rainy and blustery Havana.

Our cabin - home for the week . After a rough first night of sailing, with winds of 30 knots, and the feeling of sleeping in a washing machine, we arrived in Cayo Lago and the rest of the week was super relaxing!

Beautiful white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

We spotted starfish, dolphins, mantarays, a turtle and stingrays, along with loads of different types of fish!

Some of our fellow shipmates enjoying the sunset. The deck was amazing at night for shooting star spotting and just gazing at the Milky Way.

The Neptune, our home for a week.

Just one of the spectacular sunsets from the catamaran.

The beautiful Cayo Rico - not a bad spot for a day at the beach.

Iguanas at Cayo Rico.

Sunset over Cienfuegos from the beautiful Union Hotel.

Salsa dancing at the festival celebrating the local musician Benny  More

Cyclo tour in Cienfuegos

We had to find our land legs again, which was surprisingly difficult, especially after a bumpy sail back . On our orientation walk in Cienfuegos we got a taste of life on land again with more music, street dancing and a beautiful sunset from the terrace of the Union Hotel.
